Dongbin Xu, Ph.D.
Dongbin Xu, Ph.D., is director of the laboratory at Shodair Children's Hospital. Dr. Xu earned his doctorate in biomedical science from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center at Houston in 2009. Two years later, he completed a fellowship in cytogenetics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Xu is board eligible for certification in clinical cytogenetics.
Originally from China, Dr. Xu began his career as a genetic research assistant at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China in 1999. Over the next decade, Dr. Xu built an impressive career in the field of genetics, including his work as a graduate student at Fudan University at Shanghai, China, and the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Xu is affiliated with a variety of organizations, including the American Society of Medical Genetics, the American Cytogenetics Conference, and the Society for Developmental Biology. He is the author of numerous articles regarding cytogenetic research and a recipient of the Hearst Foundation Research and Education Award.
