Christine T. Bates, RN

Director of Clinical Services

Chris Bates has been Director of Nursing at Shodair Children’s Hospital since 2004. Prior to joining the team at Shodair, Chris was the Director of Nursing at the St. Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center in St. Louis.

Chris attended St. Louis University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing as well as her Master’s of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She has been certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist since 1997.

In addition to her certification, Chris has extensive experience in the management of adolescents, as well as adult and geriatric psychiatry units. Additionally, Chris has worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for behavioral health and consultation liaison psychiatry. She has also worked in home health care and private practice psychotherapy.

Her areas of interest have grown to include psychological effects of trauma, group therapy, and the professional development of psychiatric nurses.
