The purpose of Shodair Connect is to provide a service to Montana’s primary care, pediatric, and psychiatric providers in a method that strengthens and supports the individuals who care for children and families who experience mental health concerns.

Q: How do I enroll in Shodair Connect?
A: There are two easy ways to get started with Shodair Connect. Enroll your practice either by filling out the enrollment form on Shodair’s website or by calling the Shodair Outpatient Clinic at 406-444-1125.
Q: Who can use Shodair Connect Services?
A: All pediatric care providers in the state of Montana are eligible to receive Shodair Connect services. This includes pediatricians, family physicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and all other providers with prescribing authority. Additionally, other mental health professionals who provide ongoing treatment to children, such as child and adolescent psychiatrists, general psychiatrists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners, may request a second opinion through consultations.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Shodair Connect is available at no cost to all Montana care providers who treat children and adolescents. This program is currently funded through the Shodair Children’s Hospital.
Q: What are the hours of operation for Shodair Connect and can I make an appointment?
A: Shodair Connect is available from noon to 1:00 pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (excluding Holidays).
Appointments are required and can be made on Shodair’s website under the Shodair Connect link. www.shodair.org . Appointments will be 15 minutes in length.
Q: What kinds of questions can I ask a Shodair Connect child and adolescent psychiatrist?
A; Pediatric care providers can ask questions about any case involving children and adolescents up to age 18. Questions can be specific to a particular patient; diagnosis and treatment for a specific mental health disorder; use of a particular medication or other treatment strategy; or general questions about topics in child psychiatry and/or behavioral health. Shodair Connect Liaison Coordinators can assist in identifying appropriate specialty referral resources and linkages for patients and families. Shodair Connect does not provide crisis services or evaluations for emergencies, but can refer severe or urgent cases to appropriate emergency services.
