“Shodair brings love.”
PAINTING BY SHODAIR PATIENT
Creating a more hopeful Montana.
Shodair is creating a healthy and hopeful Montana through specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents along with a nationally recognized genetics program providing care for all ages. 99% of our patients come from right here in Montana. And because no family should have to worry about the cost to help their loved one, we don’t turn anyone away.
This means donor support is vital. Support Shodair and you will be helping some of Montana’s most vulnerable residents.
If you have someone in your life you would like to honor or memorialize with your donation, please include their name below.
The Montana Children’s Foundation generates resources to support Shodair Children’s Hospital, a national leader in the field of childhood and adolescent psychiatry and medical genetics, in its quest to provide excellent patient care, innovative treatment models, and support the education of healthcare professionals.
The foundation, established in 1977, serves as the donors’ hands, reaching out to patients, physicians, and the community to provide resources for the hospital that would not be available otherwise.
Three-quarters of Shodair’s patients are on Medicaid, and therefore we depend on the generosity of others to help cover costs.

Ways to Give
. . .
It is through the continued generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations that Shodair Children’s Hospital is able to provide a healthier and brighter future for our children. You can help ensure that our young patients receive the best psychiatric care available by making a gift that will support education, research, specialized medical programs, community health outreach, and provide care for those who cannot afford it.
Individual Giving
There are several ways to make charitable donations to the Montana Children’s Foundation (MCF). Gifts can be restricted, which means they are designated for specific programs or departments within the hospital, or they can be unrestricted, which will benefit areas where the need is the greatest. For special occasions or to celebrate or remember the life of a loved one, donors may make tribute donations. There are also several naming opportunities available throughout the hospital. MCF honors each donor and acknowledges all donations.
For more information about individual giving, contact Foundation Director Keith Meyer at (406) 444-7560 or kmeyer@shodair.org.
Planned Giving
Planned gifts are charitable contributions made by taking into consideration not just your philanthropic objectives, but also your personal and family financial goals as well.
A planned gift is one of the most personal ways to give, and it will ensure that your legacy with Shodair Children’s Hospital and the Montana Children’s Foundation will last forever.
The Shodair Children’s Hospital and Montana Children’s Foundation (MCF) family are always preparing to meet the challenges of tomorrow. By leaving your legacy for future generations of children, we will surely meet those needs. We will work with you and your professional advisors to design the right charitable gift plan that can address a number of planning and tax issues while meeting your financial goals. Working as a team, we will structure a plan that will benefit you, your family, and the children of the future.

Tribute Giving

There are several ways to pay tribute by donating to Shodair.
Memorial Donations: Honor a special life and show support by making a memorial donation. Following your donation, a card is mailed to a family member or designated person to inform them of your thoughtful gift. The gift amount is always kept private.
Honor Donations: Celebrate a special accomplishment such as the end of treatment, or a graduation, anniversary, or birthday. Or thank someone who has made a difference in your life by making a donation on their behalf. We will send a card to the honoree to inform him or her of your thoughtful gift.

Every Gift Matters
. . .
The building is up, the kids are moved in, operations have started, but the sun hasn’t set on our fundraising efforts! In 2019, our board took a big, bold step – declaring the largest fundraising effort in Shodair’s history. And while we’ve come a long way, we’re not done yet, Montana! Less than $2 million shy of reaching our $14 million goal, it’s our turn to be big and bold – working to ensure that every Montana child and family has access to the care they need right here in our state. Will you join our story and help us support Montana’s most vulnerable citizens?
